Jane Austen - Northanger Abbey

Het eerste boek van Jane Austen dat ik ga lezen, is "Northanger Abbey",  geïnspireerd door Gothic Novels zoals "The mysteries of Udolpho" en "The Monk". Gisteren alvast een voorsmaakje gehad door de verfilming uit 2007 Northanger Abbey te bekijken.

Le premier livre de Jane Austen que je vais lire est "Northanger Abbey", inspiré par des romans gothiques tels que "Les mystères d'Udolpho" et "Le moine". Nous-en avons eu un avant-goût hier en regardant l'adaptation cinématographique de Northanger Abbey (2007).

The first Jane Austen book I am going to read is "Northanger Abbey", inspired by Gothic Novels such as "The mysteries of Udolpho" and "The Monk". We had a taste of it yesterday by watching the 2007 film adaptation of Northanger Abbey.

Das erste Jane-Austen-Buch, das ich lesen werde, ist "Northanger Abbey", inspiriert von gotischen Romanen wie "Die Geheimnisse von Udolpho" und "Der Mönch". Einen Vorgeschmack darauf bekamen wir gestern, als wir uns die Verfilmung von Northanger Abbey aus dem Jahr 2007 ansahen.

Heute fand ich diesen Mitsuro Ring bei einem lokalen Juwelier.

Jane Austen - Complete works

 Vorige week bekeken wij op Netflix (ik wil hier nu geen reclame maken voor deze streamingdienst) de film The Jane Austen Book Club , een film die ons weer terug deed denken aan Pride and Prejudice .

Dit resulteerde in de aankoop van de nog ontbrekende boeken van Jane Austen in Nederlandse vertaling. 

Een nieuwe boekenstapel ligt op ons te wachten.

Letzte Woche haben wir den Film The Jane Austen Book Club auf Netflix gesehen (ich möchte hier keine Werbung für diesen Streaming-Dienst machen), ein Film, der uns wieder an Pride and Prejudice denken ließ.

Dies führte zum Kauf der noch fehlenden Jane-Austen-Bücher in niederländischer Übersetzung. 

Ein neuer Stapel Bücher wartet auf uns.

Last week, we watched the film The Jane Austen Book Club on Netflix (I do not want to advertise this streaming service here), a film that made us think of Pride and Prejudice again.

This resulted in the purchase of the still missing Jane Austen books in Dutch translation. 

A new pile of books is waiting for us.

La semaine dernière, nous avons regardé le film The Jane Austen Book Club sur Netflix (je ne veux pas faire la publicité de ce service de streaming ici), un film qui nous a fait repenser à Pride and Prejudice.

Cela a permis d'acheter les livres de Jane Austen encore manquants en traduction néerlandaise. 

Une nouvelle pile de livres nous attend.

Jules Verne - Lîle mysterieuse

Journey 2 - the mysterious island 

Nooit gedacht dat een film mij zou verleiden, om opnieuw een boek vast te nemen, en het ook daadwerkelijk te lezen. De leesmoeheid (of verslaving sloeg bij mij zowat zes jaren geleden toe, en niets kon mij er nog toe brengen, een boek vast te nemen.

Wel, deze film was spannend, en met de nodige humor bereikte inderdaad dit doel. 

Ik opteerde wel voor een ander boek van Jules Verne, namelijk "Cinq semaines en ballon". Wordt vervolgd.

Je n'aurais jamais pensé qu'un film me donnerait envie de reprendre un livre et de le lire. La fatigue (ou l'addiction) de la lecture m'a frappé il y a environ six ans, et rien ne pouvait me faire reprendre un livre.

Eh bien, ce film était passionnant et, avec l'humour nécessaire, a effectivement atteint cet objectif. 

J'ai cependant opté pour un autre livre de Jules Verne, à savoir "Cinq semaines en ballon". A suivre.

I never thought that a film would tempt me to pick up a book again and actually read it. Reading fatigue (or addiction) hit me about six years ago, and nothing could make me pick up a book again.

Well, this film was exciting, and with the necessary humour, did indeed achieve this goal. 

I opted, however, for another book by Jules Verne, namely "Cinq semaines en ballon". To be continued.
